Dublin Airport shopping: How to save at least 20% on your favourite fragrances and alcohol

Shopping in Dublin airport has experienced a massive boom in recent weeks with the return of travel across the EU and beyond.

Passengers can look forward to saving as much as 30% on high street prices for favourites like spirits and perfume/aftershave.

But how?

Well, it all depends on where you're flying. Since July 1, 1999, flyers would have to be flying out of the EU to avail of duty-free prices.

This would usually be a very expensive flight to places like America, Canada and beyond

But, one of the benefits of Brexit means that travelling to any GB airport gives people the chance to avail of much cheaper duty-free prices.

How much cheaper?

Before the return of duty-free flights to the UK, passengers would spend around €30 for an average bottle of spirits. That's cheaper than the high street but not by much.

Now, however, if taking advantage of duty-free prices, that same bottle of spirits costs just €13.

A one-litre bottle of Paddy Whiskey, Teachers whisky, Southern Comfort, Bacardi to name a few cost €13. If flying inside the EU, these same bottles would cost between €36 and €42.

Not only that, but fragrances from the likes of Hugo Boss, Versace and Paco Rabanne are also drastically cheaper in the airport when compared to high street prices.

For as little as €50 return, passengers can book an Aer Lingus flight to Edinburgh and stock up on alcohol, tobacco and fragrances for a fraction of what it would cost before Brexit.

Don't forget to look around for travel exclusive and limited edition bottlings of whiskey that won't go on sale anywhere else.
