Dublin Airport seizure nabs €110k worth of drugs in baggage from Tenerife flight

Revenue officers seized 5.5 kgs of herbal cannabis in Dublin Airport today after it was found hidden in a passenger's baggage on a flight from Tenerife.

The drugs, worth an estimated street value of €110,000, were nabbed "as a result of routine profiling".

A Slovakian man in his 20's was arrested and investigations are ongoing.

Separately, €24,500 in cash "suspected to be the proceeds of, or intended for use in, criminal activity" was nabbed by officers at the airport yesterday.

The cash was found after officers stopped and searched a passenger prior to boarding a flight to Frankfurt, Germany.

Revenue was granted a three-month cash detention order by the Dublin District Court today in relation to the cash seizure.
