Dublin Airport passenger slams 'filthy' airplane on Hainan Airlines flight to Edinburgh

A Dublin Airport passenger lashed out at the filthy condition of an aircraft cabin on a recent flight to Scotland.

Paul Lucas who reviews airline flights said that the plane for his Hainan Airlines economy class trip between Ireland and Edinburgh was the dirtiest he had ever seen.

Posting the video on his  YouTube channel  Wingin' It earlier this month, he admitted that he initially was having a good experience with the airline until he sat down in his seat.

According to  Edinburgh Live , The reviewer found food stains on the tray table and cabin walls, a mysterious dark patch on his seat and a foul valley of caked-in food remains by the cabin wall.

The Chinese airline has been given five stars by Skytrax, a consultancy which ranks airports and airlines.

Paul said: "When I looked at the power socket, I noticed something glaringly obvious about this cabin. It was absolutely filthy.

"The filthiest I've ever travelled in. Having lifted my pillow off my seat I noticed there was an obvious and disgusting stain.

"There's no way this could have been missed by the ground crew or by the cabin staff for that matter.

"As well as the unedifying stain on my seat, there was the remnants of someone's dinners - or perhaps a coffee - on the side wall of the aircraft too."

Looking down the side of the aircraft cabin, Paul reckoned it hadn't been cleaned for several weeks.

"There was filth and caked-in food remains absolutely everyhwere. There's no excuse for this appalling level of cleanliness on any aircraft," he said.

Despite the dirty cabin, Paul praised other elements of the flight such as the entertainment and USB charging facilities.

Hainan Airlines has discontinued its regular 787 Dreamliner flight between Dublin and Edinburgh Airport from mid-October, so the service will not be running much longer.

Edinburgh Live   has contacted Hainan Airline's parent company for comment.
