Dublin Airport passenger panic after Aer Lingus website goes down for number of hours

Aer Lingus customers were in panic earlier today after the airline's website went down for 'essential maintenance' for a number of hours.

Passengers have taken to social media to express their concern with the website reportedly out of action from 12pm on Monday until around 9pm.

Customers found themselves unable to check-in online leaving many stressed out about their upcoming flights

One tweeted: "I am trying to check-in for my flight for very early tomorrow morning but your website and mobile app aren't responsive. What do I do?"

In response to another query, Aer Lingus said: "Our Web Team are working to fix this, however, we don't have an expected time this will be done by. Apologies for the inconvenience.

"Both the App and Website have been affected by the same issue.

"We recommend you allow enough time for airport check-in as there may be higher than usual volumes of guests checking in due to the website issues."

Passengers had been advised that Aer Lingus agents at various airports will print out boarding passes free of charge.

They've since rectified the problem saying: "“AerLingus.com was experiencing issues this afternoon and was inaccessible for a period of time. We can confirm however our website is now back up and running. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
