Dublin Airport hiring immigration officer - and the pay is decent

Dublin Airport is looking for an immigration control officer - and ain't half bad.

Candidates will have the chance to work at the international airport in what has been described as a “front line” operational environment. 

Successful candidates will be paid between €459.65 to €762.68 per week and will be appointed to immigration duties in the Border Management Unit at the airport, Dublin Live reports.

The role will involve deciding on the granting of permission to individual to enter the country and where applicable refusing entry, examining passports and identify forged documents, conducting personal interviews with passengers, and working in cooperation with An Garda Siochana.

Staff will work in 12 hour shifts and current shift times are 05:00 to 17:00 (day shift 1); 06:00 to 18:00 (day shift 2); iii) 14:00 to 02:00 (swing); 18:00 to 06:00 (night).

The job description also says: “Applicants should give careful consideration to their own health and welfare, their family and domestic circumstances before applying for this post.

“Only candidates who are willing to work in a frontline operation area on a 24/7 shift work should apply for this post.”
