Dublin Airport emergency team deployed to runway after plane's tyre goes flat mid-air

A plan travelling from Tenerife to Dublin Airport was forced to declare an emergency after a tyre went flat.

A full emergency team was rolled out for the flight which luckily managed to ground safely.

The TUI flight raised the alarm around 7pm on Friday and thankfully landed just before 7.20pm.

It was carrying almost 200 people back from Spain.

A spokeswoman for Dublin Airport confirmed the incident and said it all came to a conclusion safely.

She said: "I can confirm that flight BLX624 arriving from Tenerife declared an emergency just after 7pm this evening.

"The aircraft landed safely and without incident just before 7.20. Dublin Airport’s emergency fire and rescue services were in attendance which is normal operating procedure."
