Dublin Airport and a Tyrone roundabout clash on Twitter ahead of All-Ireland final

A Co Tyrone roundabout and Dublin Airport have clashed on Twitter ahead of today's All-Ireland final between Mayo and the Red Hand county.

Dublin Airport posted a message of good luck to both counties and also shouted out Ireland West Airport, which is located in Knock, Co Mayo.

They said: "Good luck to fans of Mayo & Tyrone & those flying in for the final tomorrow. Ádh mór also to our pals @Irelandwest. We’re not favouring Mayo, but Tyrone doesn’t have an airport & its key piece of transport infrastructure - the Ballygawley roundabout - isn’t on @Twitter."

But the Dublin Airport social media team underestimated the power of Irish Twitter and before long a Twitter account for the Ballygawley roundabout appeared.

The Co Tyrone roundabout hit back at Dublin Airport, saying: "We beg your pardon."

Dublin Airport welcomed the account to Twitter but also pointed out the oddness in the situation.

They said: "We’re now interacting with a social media account for a roundabout- modern times eh."

But despite the squabbling with the Co Tyrone roundabout, Dublin Airport insisted they were neutral in today's final.

Throw-in for the highly anticipated match is at 5pm.
