Dubai will start vaccinating people with the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, the state media office said, after receiving its first shipment from India.

Dubai is already inoculating residents, free of charge, with the Pfizer-BioNTech and China National Pharmaceutical Group (Sinopharm) developed vaccines.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention announced Tuesday that it has conducted 181,635 additional COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours, using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment.

‏The Ministry stressed its aim to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out the necessary treatment.

‏As part of its intensified testing campaign, it announced 3,310 new infections, bringing the total to 309,649.

‏The infected individuals are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition and receiving the necessary care.

‏It also announced seven deaths due to COVID-19 complications, bringing the toll to 866.
