
Dubai will start vaccinating people with the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, the state media office said, after receiving its first shipment from India.
Dubai is already inoculating residents, free of charge, with the Pfizer-BioNTech and China National Pharmaceutical Group (Sinopharm) developed vaccines.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention announced Tuesday that it has conducted 181,635 additional COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours, using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment.
The Ministry stressed its aim to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out the necessary treatment.
As part of its intensified testing campaign, it announced 3,310 new infections, bringing the total to 309,649.
The infected individuals are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition and receiving the necessary care.
It also announced seven deaths due to COVID-19 complications, bringing the toll to 866.
