A flight bound for Manchester Airport from Dubai was diverted after a passenger fell ill on board.
The Emirates flight was rerouted to Athens following the medical emergency in the early hours of this morning (Saturday).
The passenger was helped by medics when the plane landed, before the flight continued to Manchester.
An Emirates spokesperson said: "Emirates flight EK21 from Dubai (DXB) to Manchester (MAN) on 27th December was diverted to Athens (ATH) due to a passenger medical emergency.

"Arrangements were made for the passenger to receive medical attention on arrival.
"The flight then departed Athens and continued on its journey to Manchester. Emirates apologises for the inconvenience.
"The health and safety of our crew and passengers is of paramount importance."
