The Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO) has discussed measures of cooperation, and ideas and expertise exchange with French media outlets in line with the UAE's inclusive development vision and its strategic goals, aiming at emphasizing the solid relations that always joined the Arabic and global media.

Director General of GDMO Mona Al Marri held meetings in Paris with Mary Christine Saragos, director general and CEO of Media Monde Holding, the parent company of three major French international media corporations, and Ernst Delphine, president and CEO of the French Television Foundation.

During the two meetings, Marri reviewed Media Center efforts to pursue the ambitious vision of the future leadership of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates, and the general and strategic development goals to be achieved in the near future, as well as ways to improve cooperation in the field of media training and the exchange of media visits for further constructive communication between both sides.

Head of Dubai Press Club discussed the opportunities to find new spaces to connect with leading French institutions and other international media organizations, in addition to several important initiatives that have strengthened the status of the United Arab Emirates as a positive force for the media in the Arab world, including the Arab Media Forum, which is being organized by the Dubai Press Club every year since its inception in 1999.

The President and CEO of Media Monde, as well as the President and CEO of the French Television Foundation, expressed their admiration for the strong growth that has made the UAE a distinctive Arab model for the progress of knowledge-based development to take a forward-looking position in this field.

Marri said: "These meetings are part of the strategy of the Dubai Government Media Bureau to build more effective communication bridges with the global media and their efforts, the positive dialogue towards greater cooperation to continue with the big media organizations around the world, with the desire to share experiences and visions, to discover new opportunities, to exchange ideas, to strengthen cooperation, especially in supporting and developing the skills of young people."

Media Monde Holding owns a number of major French media organizations, including France 24, which is broadcast worldwide in four languages: French, Arabic, English and Spanish, and Radio RFI, both in French, and in addition to the French radio. The number of followers of the three channels per week is estimated at 100 million listeners and viewers, while the number of social networking site visitors is around 35 million per month and nearly 60 million followers on Facebook and Twitter (according to estimates from 2017).
