Dua Lipa is distancing herself from DaBaby after being "horrified" by the rapper's comments about gay men and HIV.
The singer - who recently collaborated with the hip-hop star on their track Levitating - has been left disappointed by DaBaby's comments during a recent concert when he singled out HIV-positive and gay gig-goers.
DaBaby was performing at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami when he asked the audience to "put your cell phone light up" but requested gay men and HIV-positive people didn't do the same.
He also claimed HIV will "make you die in two or three weeks", which is completely incorrect.
Now Dua is distancing herself from the rapper and has expressed her sadness over his remarks in a candid Instagram post.
"I'm surprised and horrified by DaBaby's comments. I really don’t recognise this as the person I worked with," she wrote on her Instagram story.
"I know my fans know where my heart lies and that I stand 100 per cent with the LGTBQ community.
"We need to come together to fight the stigma and ignorance around HIV/AIDS."
While Dua slammed DaBaby's comments, fellow rapper TI said DaBaby should be able to say what he wants if gay stars like Lil Nas X are able to show off their sexuality on stage.
He wrote: "If Lil Nas X can kick his s**t in peace ... so should dababy #equality."
However, DaBaby's comments have been criticised by the UK's leading HIV and AIDS charity, the Terrence Higgins Trust.
"It's wrong for people living with HIV to be made to feel lesser or excluded because of their diagnosis - it should be unacceptable in the music industry and in society at large," says Richard Angell, campaigns director at the Trust said.
"Comments like DaBaby's perpetuate HIV-related stigma and discrimination, as well as spreading misinformation about HIV.
"You can now live a long, healthy life with HIV thanks to medical progress when you're diagnosed and accessing treatment."
DaBaby has since hit back at his critics, telling them not to concern themselves with what he says at his shows.
In a post online, he wrote: "What I do at the live show is for the audience at the live show," he said.
"It'll never translate to somebody looking at at a five, six-second clip."
However, he sparked further fury by declaring his fans who are gay do not have AIDS and said those who live with the condition are "nasty" and "junkies on the street".
"Even my gay fans got standards," he added in his post.
