Dua Lipa has officially confirmed her engagement to actor Callum Turner after months of endless speculation.
The pop star, who turns 30 in August, shared the news in a new interview, describing the engagement as “a really special feeling” and a joyful step in her relationship with Turner, 35.
The couple, who both hail from London and have been together for around 18 months, first sparked engagement rumours over Christmas when Lipa was spotted wearing a ring in festive Instagram posts. Until now, however, neither had publicly addressed the speculation.
“Yes, we’re engaged,” she said appearing on the cover of the July issue of British Vogue. “It’s very exciting. This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don’t know, be best friends forever — it’s a really special feeling.”
Turner, known for roles in Fantastic Beasts, Masters of the Air and BBC thriller The Capture, which earned him a BAFTA nomination in 2020, reportedly had the ring custom made with help from Lipa’s sister Rina and her closest friends.
“It’s so me,” the Levatating hit-maker added. “It’s nice to know the person you’re going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well.”
Despite the excitement, the couple aren’t rushing into wedding plans. Lipa is currently on her Radical Optimism world tour, which will see her play her biggest UK shows to date at London’s Wembley Stadium on June 20 and 21, before wrapping up in Mexico this December. Meanwhile, Turner is preparing to begin filming Neuromancer, a new Apple TV+ sci-fi series based on William Gibson’s cult 1984 novel.
“We’re just enjoying this period,” she said. “I’ve never really thought about a wedding, or dreamt about what kind of bride I’d be. Now I’m suddenly like, ‘Oh… what would I wear?’”
The couple have largely kept their relationship private, though they have made rare public appearances together at high-profile events like Paris Fashion Week and the Met Gala.
Lipa has previously been linked to model Anwar Hadid and musician Isaac Carew while Turner was previously in a long-term relationship with actress Vanessa Kirby from 2015 to 2020.
