Dua Lipa, Chris Martin and 21 other musicians to release charity cover of Foo Fighters' Times Like These

Dua Lipa, Chris Martin, Ellie Goulding and others will come together to record a charity cover of the Foo Fighters song Times Like These.

The single, which is being released as part of the BBC’s popular Live Lounge series, will feature contributions from 23 different artists, including Yungblud, AJ Tracey, Mabel, Dermot Kennedy and Bastille.

All profits from the release will be split equally between BBC Children in Need and Comic Relief, both of which are providing support to those affected by Covid-19 during the pandemic.

Each artist will record their parts from home, with Grammy Award-winning producer Fraser T Smith — who has worked with Stormzy, Adele and Dave in the past — putting it all together.

The song will be released at midday on Thursday April 23, with the accompanying video getting its first play on BBC One’s Big Night In later that evening.

Dua Lipa said: “I am so proud that we’ve been able to come together to record this track and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it. Thinking of everyone around the world at this difficult time. Love you all.”

It comes after UB40 released a charity cover of Lean On Me in aid of the NHS, while Michael Ball also collaborated with Captain Tom Moore for a rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone.
