DU polls: Student politics vs student concerns?

The Delhi University Students’ Union elections are here.

But beyond the posters, money, and celebrity campaigns, many students say their real issues are missing. Rising fees, campus facilities, safety, and academic concerns are drowned out by flashy cars, campaigners playing Doraemon and Motu-Patlu, mindless reels, and celebrities joining the campaign online, some of them claim.

This year, 21 candidates will battle it out for the four top posts – president, vice-president, secretary and joint secretary. Voting takes place on September 18, and results will be out on September 19.

In this special report, we cut through the spectacle to ask: what do Delhi University students really want? Are their concerns being ignored in the politics of DUSU?
