DSPCA in desperate plea to Dubliners to look after defenceless puppies cruelly dumped in graveyard

The DSPCA is calling on kindhearted Dubliners to look after a litter of puppies that were callously dumped in a Dublin graveyard.

The animal cruelty watchdog took to Facebook to tell how the defenceless little dogs had been discarded in a cemetery in the Blanchardstown area in the past day.

They also posted a photo of the four tiny newborn pups sleeping in their Rathfarnham headquarters.

They said: "These tiny new born puppies were found yesterday at a graveyard in Dublin 15 by a member of the public who brought them to the dog pound.

"Now at the DSPCA the pups are being fed a milk substitute formula and we are looking for experienced foster homes to help with that."

The DSPCA describe their foster care program as an opportunity for people "to care for an animal that’s not yet ready for adoption".

It’s also an alternative for animal lovers who can’t make a long-term commitment but still want to help rescue animals.

If you want to help, you should have hand-reared very young pups before and you need to be at home most of the time with your own mode of transport.

Anyone interested in helping should email foster@dspca.ie or call 01 499 4720.
