Dry weekend but temperatures start to dip

It will be a much more blustery and cooler end to the week in Britain.

As a cold front sinks South Eastwards into the country on Friday, temperatures will be pulled closer to the normal level for this year, reports The Weather Channel.

Friday there will be cloud and rain spreading across Scotland and Ireland, heavier in the in the West, along with strong and gusty wind.

Across the rest of UK, it will be dry with a mixture of patchy cloud and sunny spells.

The best sunshine can be found over East Anglia and South East England.

Later in the day, the rain will edge into the North of Wales and North West England, turning drier over Ireland.

Maximum temperatures will be between 9 to 15C in the North and 11 to 16C in the South.

Friday night will be cloudy but dry in central and Southern England, but there will be a band of cloud and rain across Northern England and South West England.

This will continue to sink South Eastwards overnight, but weakening as it does.

Northern Ireland and Scotland will be clearer, but there will be scattered wintry showers across the West coast of Scotland.

Minimum temperatures will be 0 and 5C across the North with a scattered frost, 1 to 3C for Ireland and 3 to 8C across the South.

Going into the weekend, it will be largely dry, with temperatures on Saturday reaching between 8 to 11C in the North, and 9 to 13C in the South.
