Drunk woman tried to kiss police officer after being thrown out of hotel

A drunk woman was ejected from a city hotel, tried to kiss a police officer, licked her face and then kicked her.

It left vodka drinker Marta Bugajska facing the city's magistrates' court where she admitted assault and was ordered to pay £100 compensation to the policewoman.

The court heard of the trouble caused by the 23-year-old after the NHS moved her from the North East and into the Paramount Hotel as emergency accommodation.

She pushed two staff members and kicked one of them at 10pm on Tuesday, said Peter Bettany, prosecuting.

Bugajska then called a police officer a "bitch," he said.

In a statement, the officer said: "She tried to kiss me, licked my face before raising her leg and kicking me to my right side." There were no injuries.

Homeless Bugajska admitted threatening behaviour at the hotel and assault by beating at the Bridewell police station. She had never been in trouble before and was given a six-month conditional discharge.

Emma Eardley, mitigating, said Bugajska had been held in custody since the incident.

She told the court: "She had consumed a lot of alcohol, vodka in fact, which has given her no recollection of the incident."

Bugajska is "no longer welcome" at the hotel, has no settled address, no job and is not currently receiving benefits, added Miss Eardley.
