"Drunk" woman "banned from airline" after screaming row on Malaga flight

A woman has been banned from an airline after a row broke out onboard a flight to Malaga, it is claimed.

The plane was packed with British tourists, one of whom  branded the woman “the worst airline passenger ever”, after she went on an allegedly vodka-fuelled rant.

The row with the crew appeared to kick off when they didn't have any Pepsi on board and she told them she wanted to make a complaint.

Footage of the incident shows the woman screaming and swigging from what appears to be a hip flask before staff come to speak to her.

A British tourist on the same flight claim the woman was drunk and refused to put her bag in the overhead locker because it was crammed with her jewellery.

They also say she was late boarding and then fell onto another passenger as she shuffled to her seat.

The Brit, who did not want to be named, described her outburst, saying: “She was getting out of her seat, her face was bright red.

“She was the worst passenger I have ever seen on an airline and I fly quite a lot.

“The way she was acting - it was like she was possessed.”

The 38-year-old fashion designer flew from his home city of Manchester to Lisbon and then got a connecting flight to Malaga, where he was holidaying, on Saturday, March 9.

He added that fellow fliers were cheering when she finally got arrested.

He said: “She was so p***ed. She was sat near the fire exit and I was worried she was going to try and pull something. She was literally not in control of herself.

“She was putting everyone in danger."

The woman apparently became irate after flight attendants on the flight run by Portuguese airline TAP said they only had orange or apple juice as a mid-flight drink.

The witness said she was screeching that she wanted Pepsi.

“We were all like why is she so insistent on that, but it turned out it was because she wanted to mix it,” the witness said.

“She was the last one to board, everyone was waiting and she was at the front of the plane.

“I noticed her because when she was trying to get to her seat she fell backwards onto another passenger.

“When we were lifting off she was kicking off about having to put her bag in the hold.

“Stewardesses were telling her you have to put it away but she was like ‘no.’

“She started speaking English and said ‘I have my books, I have my jewellery, I have my money in there - I need my bag.”

The passenger claims the captain had to leave the cockpit to serve the woman with a notice telling her she had been banned from the airline and would be arrested on touch-down.

Flyers were held up by another hour when police boarded on arrival in Malaga to arrest her.

TAP has been contacted for comment.
