Drunk Paisley woman shouted "I'm going to f*****g kill you" through letterbox of ex's new flat

A drunk Paisley woman who shouted “I’m going to kill you” through a letterbox has been told to be of good behaviour.

Hazel Johnstone of Blackford Road in the town admitted she caused fear or alarm on May 11 this year at a property on George Street by shouting, swearing, repeatedly banging on a door and uttering threats.

Procurator fiscal depute Caitlin O’Hare told Paisley Sheriff Court: “On May 8, the accused and the witness separated as a result of him moving in with a mutual friend.

“Around 2pm on Tuesday, May 11, the two witnesses - Johnstone's ex-partner and their mutual friend, were within the locus in George Street when they heard a knock at the door.

“The witnesses could hear Johnstone’s voice but couldn’t make out what she was saying.

“The accused walked to the front of the property and began to bang on the living room window and repeatedly bang on the door.

“The witnesses contacted the police as Johnstone refused to leave.

“When police arrived they observed Johnstone heavily under the influence of alcohol and banging on the door.

“Police attempted to speak to Johnstone but she turned to shout through the letterbox, ‘I’ll f*****g kill you.’

“Johnstone was then arrested and when cautioned and charged she replied, ‘That’s BS’

“She was taken to Govan police station and released on an undertaking.”

Johnstone’s defence agent explained that the 42-year-old has a “history of particular drug misuse combined with alcohol.”

Sheriff Gillian Craig said: “I wish to keep this matter under review.”

Sheriff Craig ordered Johnstone to be of good behaviour for a period of three months.

Johnstone will return to court in February to hear her fate.
