'Drunk' Paddy McGuinness told to go home in excruciatingly awkward interview

Paddy McGuinness caused chaos on today's This Morning after turning up 'drunk'.

The Take Me Out host confessed he had not been to bed after coming straight from Monday night's Top Gear series 28 premiere in Leicester Square.

Paddy had got up on stage and shouted at the Director General of the BBC to "get the sambucas in, son" before downing shots.

The presenter joked about Phillip Schofield's "boa constrictor" before storming on set to interrupt a segment on crisps.

Things got worse during an excruciatingly awkward interview where he embarrassed Top Gear co-star Chris Harris before being told to go home and get a wash.

After being mocked for only having one nipple, red-faced Chris said: "This is worse than I ever thought it could be. Absolute shower..."

Phillip Schofield sarcastically said: "I find it shocking someone could come on this sofa and still be drunk."

While Holly Willoughby, who hinted at the NTA awards, asked: "Who would do that? This time next week it will be us."

She added: "You two go home and get washed. I’ve never finished an interview saying that."

There were hints that Paddy was still 'trollied' when he unexpectedly rocked up during Alice Beer's crisp segment.

Holly said: "Paddy you sound a little hoarse. Did you have a late night last night?"

Sheepish Paddy admitted: "I’m not gong to lie, I haven’t been to bed."

When Alice Beer revealed she could smell that he sprayed something, Paddy claimed it was "mace".

During the actual interview, Holly asked whether Paddy had flown too close to the sun.

"I knew I was flying too close to the sun when I was on stage saying to the Director General of the BBC 'get the smabucas in son'.

"He’s good as gold. He’s still there drinking."

When Paddy confessed he did not know what he was saying, Phillip told him to "keep it together" for another five minutes.

On what he brings to Top Gear, Paddy said: "Alcohol...and lots of it."

This Morning viewers took to Twitter after watching Paddy's amusing antics on the show.

One fan asked: "Is our Paddy still p***ed this morning after last night’s premiere"

"Paddy Mccguinness is still trollied," added another.

A third said: "Oh dear this interview is gonna go viral ... paddy still p***ed up"

"Paddy mcguinness is still drunk I’m crying laughing," said a fourth.
