Drunk man leaves victim with broken nose after glass bottle attack in park

A drunk man left his victim with a broken nose after a glass bottle attack in a park in Old Trafford.

Police were called to the incident at Hullard Park at around 5pm last night (Friday).

An intoxicated man attacked his victim with a glass bottle, police said.

The victim suffered a broken nose.

The suspect also had an injured finger following the assault.

Officers found him nearby and arrested him.

An area of the park near some benches was taped off by police after the attack.

The cordon was lifted after around two hours.

In a tweet posted this morning (Saturday), GMP Trafford said: "Victim assaulted by offender with a glass bottle in Hullard Park, Old Trafford last night, suffering a broken nose.

"Officers arrive within mins and locate suspect nearby and is arrested.

"The suspect was intoxicated and also had an injury to his finger.

"Enquires on going."

In a statement on Friday, a spokesman from Greater Manchester Police said: "At 4.55pm today police were called to reports of an assault at Hullard Park in Old Trafford.

"Officers attended and established that a victim had been assaulted. The injuries are not serious.

"A male has been arrested.

"A cordon was in place but it has now been lifted."
