Drunk, man files fake car theft complaint in Noida

GHAZIABAD: A man in an inebriated state made a theft complaint of his car in Noida on Saturday.

According to the police, they received a call from Ashish Kumar, a resident of Bisrakh.

“The caller informed us that two men on a motorcycle robbed him of his i20 car from Sector 71 in Noida,” a senior police officer said.

He added that CCTV footage were scanned to ascertain the identities of the accused. “We could not find any clips which confirmed the alleged incident. Following which, Kumar was questioned. It was revealed that he made the call in an inebriated condition. He himself had parked the car at an e-cycle stand in Noida and later went home in an auto,” the officer said.
