Drunk driver tries to take cocaine in back of police car

A man who was arrested for drink driving tried to take cocaine whilst in the back of a police car.

Greater Manchester Police's traffic unit stopped the Ford Transit driver on Firwood Groove in Bolton.

A roadside breath test found that he was almost double the drink drive limit - having 67 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal limit is 35 micrograms.

"He would then try to take cocaine whilst in the police car!" a Tweet posted by GMP Traffic said this morning (Wednesday, December 29).

The drugs were seized and the man was arrested for possession of cocaine and drink driving.

He is now in police custody in Bury.
