'Drunk driver' overturns car on country road

Police are asking drivers to avoid one area of Lancashire after a car overturned leaving electric cables on the road.

Officers were called to reports of a car on its roof on Shore Road in Hesketh Bank this morning. Police said the driver was unharmed and managed to walk away from the scene.

However, after being seen to by the responding officers he provided a positive sample in relation to drink driving. Work is now underway to repair the electric cables.

A post on the Lancs Road Police Twitter said: "Vehicle on its roof on Shore Road in Hesketh Bank, avoid the area if possible owing to electricity cables in the road. Driver uninjured and walked away, being dealt with by officers having provided a positive sample in relation to drink driving."
