Speaking on a local Facebook group, a resident said: "Two navy electric mountain bikes stolen last night on Botanic avenue.

"Had them in the shed. Lock 'em up folks there's a load getting nicked around the area apparently!"

He added: "I'd say they were casing the joint for a while!"

Another local said in the comments that her bike was stolen from outside The Ivy House on Wednesday.

She said: "Gardai are investigating a burglary which occurred at a residence in Glasnevin, Dublin sometime between August 17, 2021, and August 18, 2021.

"Two electric bicycles were stolen from the property.
