Drugs worth €40,000 including large haul of cocaine seized in search in Blanchardstown

A large haul of cocaine and other drugs worth a total of €40,000 have been seized following a search in west Dublin.

The illegal drugs were discovered as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of drugs in the the Blanchardstown area yesterday.

During the course of a garda intelligence operation, cocaine and diamorphine worth around €5,000 were found in various sized packaging.

Two men, one aged 24 and a juvenile, were arrested at the scene and taken to Finglas Garda Station where they are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

A further search of the area was conducted and an additional €35,000 of cocaine, subject to analysis, was seized.

A garda spokeswoman said investigations into the find are ongoing.
