Drugs worth £2.3m recovered from property in Clydebank

Drugs worth an estimated street value of £2.3 million have been recovered from a property in Clydebank.

Two people were arrested on Saturday, March 2 after officers acting under a warrant raided the property in McCreery Street, north west of Glasgow, around 8.20pm.

Inside, they found more than 41 kilos of cocaine, a ‘significant quantity of diazepam tablets, a kilo of heroin and just over 14 kilos of cannabis.

A 30-year-old woman and 45-year-old man were arrested and charged and both were due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on March 11.

Detective Sergeant Nicky Beattie said: “This substantial recovery shows our commitment to disrupting drug activity and supply in our local communities. This seizure ensures that £2.3million worth of drugs will not be distributed on our streets.

“Drugs cause real devastation to people’s lives and the wider community. The public can be assured that targeting drugs and tackling those involved in criminality remains a priority.”
