Drugs stash seized as police swoop on Mercedes

A suspect has been named after a stash of Class A drugs were discovered after police surrounded a Mercedes car.

The swoop took place on the Wirral where police confirmed they stopped the C-Class Mercedes in Tranmere.

The drugs stash was uncovered when police pulled over the executive car on Park Road.

The Class A drugs were found when police searched the driver at around 10.40pm on Tuesday.

Police confirmed a 35-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We have charged a 35-year-old man with drugs offences after a car was stopped in Tranmere on Tuesday, June 23.

"At around 22.40pm, officers stopped a grey C-Class Mercedes on Park Road. Following a search of the driver, a quantity of Class A drugs were seized."

Kristopher Jones, 35, of Moss Lane Prenton, has now been charged with possession of a Class A drug.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court on Monday, July 26..
