Drugs with a five-figure street value were recovered by police last week when they made an early morning raid on a Cambuslang property.
A total of 1.6kilos of class B drug herbal cannabis – worth £16,000 – was found in the house on Vicars Walk.
A 47-year-old man was arrested and charged with allegedly being concerned in the production of controlled drugs and will appear in court at a
later date.
His home was raided after police received information from members of the public concerned about the suspected sale and use of drugs in their area.
Sgt Scott Anderson, of the local problem solving team at Rutherglen police office, said: “Through continuous community engagement we identify local priorities. Drugs are a priority in Cambuslang and Rutherglen and today is a great example of how hard we work to make our community safe and remove drugs from our streets.
“I would like to thank the public for their support and ask that they continue to report people involved in drugs.”
