Drugs recovery in Kilsyth: Police seize £27k of ‘heroin’ from Townhead Street property

Drugs worth an estimated street value of £27,000 have been recovered from a property in Kilsyth following a police raid.

Officers searched the place on Townhead Street around 8am on Friday (June 4) and found what they believe to be heroin.

A 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with drugs offences.

He is due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Monday (June 7) and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Inspector Neil Macleod, of Police Scotland, said: “We have taken a significant amount of drugs off the street during this operation.

“Drugs can have a devastating impact on communities and we would continue to encourage members of the public to support our efforts to tackle this issue.

“Any intelligence received about drugs activity will be thoroughly investigated and information can be reported to Police Scotland through 101.
