Drugs parcel posted to Strangeways prisoner - police now want to speak to these two men

Police want to speak to these two men after a parcel containing cannabis was posted to a prisoner at Strangeways.

The package was brought into a DHL depot in Liverpool.

But 'vigilant' staff searched the parcel and discovered what was suspected to be cannabis inside.

Merseyside Police have released images of two men who they think may hold information which could assist them in their investigation.

Det Insp Jennie Beck said: "If you know either of these men, come forward as we think they may hold vital information to assist our investigation.

"Thanks to the vigilance of staff at DHL, this package was intercepted and we work closely with prisons, delivery companies and other partners to ensure that drugs and other items are identified within the postal and prison systems, and those responsible are put before the courts."

The package was brought into the DHL depot on Estuary Boulevard, in Speke, at about 1pm on October 14.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Merseyside Police via social media @MerPolCC on Twitter or Merseyside Police Contact Centre on Facebook quoting reference 19100596260 or Crimestoppers anonymopusly on 0800 555111.
