One man has been arrested after Gardai seized a whopping €255,450 worth of controlled drugs in a huge search last night.
Officers conducted a search at an apartment in Dun Laoghaire shortly after 9pm on Thursday and during their seizure, discovered cocaine worth over €250k and heroin with a street value of €2,400.
In the apartment, a large amount of drug paraphernalia was seized also including a large hydraulic press and mixing bowls.
The arrested man in his late 40s is currently being detained at Dun Laoghaire Garda Station and investigations are ongoing.
A Garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí attached to the Dublin Metropolitan Region East Divisional Drugs Unit have seized €255,450 worth of controlled drugs and arrested one man, following a search operation in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin last night, Thursday 3rd September.
"At approximately 9pm, Gardaí conducted a search and executed a Section 26 search warrant at an apartment in a residential development. During the course of the operation, suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of €253,050 and suspected heroin with an estimated street value of €2,400 were seized. The drugs will now be sent for analysis."
"A large amount of drug paraphernalia including a large hydraulic press and mixing bowls were seized."
She added: "One man, late 40s, was arrested during the course of the search and taken to Dun Laoghaire Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996."
