A QUEENSLAND man will appear in court this morning after a crash on the M1 at Ourimbah on Saturday left drugs, cash and firearms strewn across the road.

Police said emergency services were called to the M1 at Ourimbah about midday after reports of a multi-vehicle crash in the northbound lanes.

The crash caused the canopy of a Toyota Landcruiser to dislodge and multiple boxes to fall from the vehicle, police said.

The contents of the boxes fell onto the road, including vacuum sealed bags of approximately 47 kilograms of cannabis and more than $39,000 cash.

Tuggerah Lakes police searched the vehicle and located seven firearms, ammunition and white powder believed to be cocaine.

The items were seized for forensic examination.

The Toyota driver, 37-year-old man from Queensland, was arrested and treated at the scene by paramedics for minor injuries, before being taken to Wyong Hospital for mandatory testing.

After his release, he was taken to Wyong police station and charged with dealing with the proceeds of crime more than $50,000, supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, supplying a prohibited drug and not keeping a firearm safely.

The man was refused bail by police to appear in Newcastle Bail Court on Sunday morning.
