A spitting thug who photographed a police officer and said he had sent the picture to Glasgow associates so the cop could be "done in" was jailed for more than a year today.
John Nimmo, 32, who had taken tranquilisers, was arrested after threatening to kill his sister.
Falkirk Sheriff Court heard that the incident, on April 9, 2021, began when Nimmo dialled 999 to complain that his sister, Mary-Ann Morgan, had locked him out of his house in Grangemouth, because he had smashed up the property.
He told the call handler: "I don't mind fighting the polis mate, I'll fight the polis to get in my house.
"I'm trying to get my sister, I'm going to kill her.
"She's run away from my house and locked my front door so I don't kill her.
"That's why I phoned yous, so my sister's safe."
When the call handler asked for his details, he lost his temper and said, "I'm asking you to help me and your's sitting saying 'who's this, who's this'?
"I'll come down to Grangemouth Police Station and I'll stab you myself."
Four officers rushed to the scene to find Nimmo in the communal stairwell of nearby flats.
"Instantly aggressive", he told cops, "You want to f****** fight? I'll kill you, you and you. You'll be going to the mortuary."
He was arrested, thrashing his arms and tensing up, and repeatedly shouting and threatening to kill police officers.
Prosecutor Michael Maguire said he called officers "f****** mongos" and told one cop, "You're a f****** spastic, mate".
Kept in a police van at Falkirk Police Station for safety reasons, he told cops: "I'm going to rape your Maw, I'm going to rape your wife."
When one officer tried to talk to him to calm him down, he got out his mobile phone and said he was filming him.
He told the constable: "I know you, I know where you live. When you're off duty I'm going to get you mate, you're getting slashed. Just wait, I'll be outside the station. You're going to be dead Monday/Tuesday afternoon.
"I've got my phone in here and I've already sent the picture to boys in Glasgow. You're getting done in - you don't know who you're dealing with."
He then smashed up his phone on the inside of the police van.
He then began spitting towards police at the station charge bar, and attempted to headbutt the officer he said he had photographed, narrowly missing.
Another officer grabbed his head to stop him trying again, and Nimmo ranted, "I'll f****** bite you mate", and kicked him on the legs.
He was eventually put in a cell, where he continued to shout and swear.
Appearing by video link from Low Moss Prison, Nimmo, of Grangemouth, Stirlingshire, admitted breach of the peace, and police assault.
Solicitor Mark Fallon, defending, said: "He self-acknowledges that he has anger management problems."
Jailing Nimmo for 58 weeks, Sheriff Simon Collins QC said: "There is no alternative to a custodial sentence."
