Drug lord Pablo Escobar’s car on the market for whopping £1.6million

Drug lord Pablo Escobar’s car is on the market for a whopping £1.6million.

The 1974 Porsche 911 RSR went into storage after Escobar’s death in 1993 but has since been restored to its original IROC Fittipaldi livery and body.

The car is said to be in top condition.

It comes after a new documentary aired about the Scottish mercenary hired to kill the world’s most notorious drug baron Escobar.

Ex-SAS operative Peter McAleese was recruited by a rival Colombian cartel to take out Escobar in 1989.

The documentary told the story in McAleese’s own words showing never-seen-before footage of his mission – which was ultimately unsuccessful.

Killing Escobar, produced by Glasgow-based Two Rivers Media and Salon Pictures, also revealed how McAleese’s violent upbringing in Glasgow, SAS training and experience as a mercenary in Africa led him to take on the daring assignment.

Described as “the ultimate professional soldier”, McAleese has detailed his extensive experiences in several books, including No Mean Soldier, but the film is the first time told the whole story about his attempts to assassinate Escobar.

The film got its world premiere at the Glasgow Film Festival on March 7 and will air on BBC Scotland this year.
