Drug driving teen had huge knife in Burger King

A drug-driving teen was caught with an eight-inch kitchen knife in Burger King in New Brighton.

Samuel Brooks, who has recently turned 18, was found with the large knife in the seaside fast-food restaurant on March 19 this year.

He admitted possessing the blade and having cannabis on his person during a hearing at Liverpool Youth Court.

Brooks, of Hornby Road, Bromborough, appeared before District Judge Paul Healey today (August 18).

He wore a black coat and grey tracksuit bottoms as a list of 11 charges he had previously pleaded guilty to was read.

Brooks, who was 17 when he was found with the knife, had also handled a stolen Carrera Vengeance bicycle, assaulted a woman on April 18 this year, failed to surrender and breached a criminal behaviour order on three occasions.

The teen had also admitted two counts of drug driving on August 12 last year on Hoylake Road after driving a Yamaha MT-07 motorcycle.

Today's sentencing was adjourned to allow a probation report to be created.

Brooks will next appear in court on Tuesday, September 22 to be sentenced.

He was released on bail with the condition that he must cooperate with an electronically monitored curfew.
