Drug driver arrested after being found with 'quantity of cannabis'

A driver has been arrested after testing positive for drugs and being found in possession of cannabis.

Traffic officers from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said that they first spotted a Ford Fiesta driving through Farnworth without any lights on.

After initially seeing the car in Albert Road, cops chased it to Balmoral Road and tried to block it in.

A passenger 'ran off' according to police but the driver, a man, was arrested.

He allegedly failed a drugs test and police said that they also found a 'quantity of cannabis'.
