'Drug driver' arrest made after two car crash in city centre

A man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving after a car crash in Liverpool city centre.

Police were called out to James Street at around 11.45am today ( Thursday) following reports of an accident involving two cars.

The accident, which involved a blue Fiesta and a second car, happened near the entrance to James Street train station.

A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug driving, and is now in custody.

Police said nobody was hurt in the accident, describing it as "damage only."

A spokesman for the force said to the ECHO : "We were called to reports of a two vehicle RTC on James Street at 11.45am today.

"A male has been arrested at the scene.

"There are no reports of anyone being injured."
