Drug dealer who earned £350,000 selling 'Batman cocaine' told to repay just £6.22

A kingpin drug dealer who made almost £350k selling Batman cocaine was ordered to repay just £6.22 by a judge.

Daniel Delaney was the head of a drugs network and employed his pals to distribute the class A drug which carried a Batman logo.

The 39-year-old was told that if he doesn't stump up the cash within a month he will have an extra two weeks added to his 10 year three month sentence.

Judge David Griffith-Jones QC even quipped to defence barrister William England: "I suppose you'll pay that yourself."

The dealer, from Gillingham, Kent, netted £348,595 from distributing cocaine via his friends throughout Medway, Kent.

But after an investigation into his means, Delaney was ordered to pay back a pittance sum after it was revealed he has just over £6 to his name, Birmingham Live reports.

Delaney was jailed in March after admitting conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

After an in-depth analysis of mobile phone evidence, detectives were able to link him to a 32-year-old man from Gillingham who was jailed for six years after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine and possession of criminal property.

He was found to have been in possession of a bag containing several blocks of cocaine stamped with the Batman logo, with tens of thousands of pounds hidden in a secret compartment behind the back passenger seat of his car.

He was also linked to the case of a 46-year-old travel agent from Lordswood who was jailed for eight years after he pleaded guilty to possession of criminal property and being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.
