Drug dealer sold cocaine to cops THREE TIMES in undercover sting

A dealer was caught selling Class-A drugs to police in an undercover sting.

Connor Chalk, 22, sold cocaine to plainclothes detectives three times - unaware that he was under surveillance as part of an investigation.

Chalk was snared peddling the powder at a restaurant in Erskine to cops on various occasions between May 31 and June 21 last year.

The accused, of Mains Hill in Erskine, appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court and pleaded guilty to charges of the supply of a controlled drug, namely cocaine, at the Grill in the Park to undercover police officers.

Defence agent Kirsty McGeehan confirmed her client was admitting responsibility for the offences when he appeared before Sheriff James Spy.

She said: “He has pleaded guilty to three charges and sentence has been deferred for reports.

“However, the prosecutor involved in dealing with the case is unwell.

“Therefore, the agreed amounts and values involved in the case have not been noted in the papers, and I would ask the matter is continued until the procurator fiscal’s return.”

Another accused Darren Cloherty, 28, of Park Top, in Erskine, also pleaded guilty to charges of possessing Class-A drugs at his home during the same period.

A third man, Scott Brown, 34, of Park Winding in Erskine, also confirmed he was pleading guilty to charges of supplying Class-A drugs, namely cocaine, to undercover cops at the same restaurant in the town on June 7 last year.

Sheriff Spy agreed to adjourn matters until the case is ready to be heard in court until August 9.

All three accused were granted bail on Friday and were ordered to appear for sentencing on that date.
