Drug dealer mocked for looking like Sideshow Bob in his mugshot

A scruffy drug dealer has been mercilessly mocked online for looking like "Sideshow Bob" after police released his wild-haired mug shot.

Jakub Kowal was compared to the Simpsons character as well as a New Romantic while others said it looked as if he'd had an electric shock.

The 21-year-old was jailed for a year after being caught making substantial sums of money peddling ketamine in Cirencester, Glos.

But he was relentlessly ridiculed by web users after police released his custody photo following sentencing at Gloucester Crown Court.

One wrote: "Sideshow Bobs in town. Look out Bart!!"

Another put: "My god looks like he's got his finger in an electric socket"

A web user added: "If thats what drugs do to your hair you can keep it .wow!! or he's s big fan of the early eighties new romantics."

One resident said: "The hair is a crime in itself.. Clearly keeping a low profile."

And another person quipped: "He's auditioning for an echo and the bunnymen tribute band!!!"

The court was told Kowal was caught after police found a small amount of ketamine
in his wallet before a search of his van uncovered evidence of dealing.

Officers found 28grams of ketamine, a small amount of diazepam, a set of scales and plastic bags. The value of the seized drugs was £850.

Messages found on Kowal's phone showed he had been dealing, and he admitted to doing so for about a year.

Prosecutor Alan Williams said the evidence suggested he bought the drugs in bulk at £1,600 a time, then made several hundred pounds profit.

Kowal, of Bosbury, Herefordshire, admitted having ketamine with intent to supply and possessing diazepam.

Sentencing, Judge Mark Horton said: "You had been dealing in drugs for 12 months.

"That is not just one or two supplies. This was your business and you have been earning substantial sums of money from it."

Judith Kenney, defending, said Kowal has voluntarily sought help for his own drug problem since his arrest.
