Man jailed after being stopped in Stealth and found with MDMA pills and cocaine

A 24-year-old man has been jailed for three years and two months for drug offences.

Keanu Cawkill of Upton Mews, Carlton pleaded guilty at Nottingham Crown Court to supplying a controlled drug of class A (MDMA), supplying a controlled drug of class A (cocaine) and possession with intent to supply drug of class A (MDMA).

Cawkill was stopped in Stealth Nightclub, Nottingham on the March 28, 2018 by staff after being seen in "suspected drug dealing circumstances".

Cawkill was found in possession of MDMA pills and cocaine. He admitted to possession only.

A police spokesman said a mobile phone was seized from him on arrest, which he denied was his. Following work by officers it was shown that Cawkill was the owner of the device and had conversations on the phone, which helped with the investigation.

After Cawkill  was jailed on September 2, Inspector Mark Stanley praised his staff. He said: "I'd like to congratulate all the officers and staff who worked hard on this case and secured a fantastic result to ensure Cawkill is behind bars following his crimes.

"Despite having a small amount of drugs in his possession, we are pleased with the length of his sentence. It demonstrates that if you are prepared to carry drugs in your possession, you run the risk of a lengthy prison sentence."
