Drug dealer is stripped of his £26 criminal benefit

A drug dealer had his ill-gotten gains confiscated - all £26 of it.

The case of Jean Alves Ferreira and Icaro Telles De Sousa was subject to the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 application at Bristol Crown Court.

Ferreira, 24, of Marsh Street Bristol, pleaded guilty to possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply and possessing false identity documents.

De Sousa, 23, of the same address, pleaded guilty to the same charges as well as acquiring criminal property.

Each are serving a 19 months prison sentence.

Virginia Cornwall, prosecuting, applied for £1,240 available assets to be confiscated from De Sousa and £26.04 from Ferreira.

Judge James Patrick sanctioned the confiscation.

The court heard each man had a car worth some £1,300, the whereabouts if which are unknown, but no order was made in respect to the vehicles.
