Drug dealer climbed on roof in attempt to dodge arrest

A drug dealer who flooded the streets of Runcorn with Class A drugs climbed onto his roof when officers raided his home.

Mark Garry, 26, of Swainson Road in Fazakerley, was selling crack cocaine on the streets of Runcorn until officers arrived at his home on May 30, 2022. When officers arrived at his home, he was seen climbing out of the window and onto the roof.

A while later, officers arrested and detained the man and found drug paraphernalia and, equipment was found at the property.

Garry pleaded guilty at Liverpool Crown Court to conspiracy to supply crack cocaine and heroin on Thursday, July 7. The dealer was jailed for four years.

Detective Inspector Gary Stratton said: “Garry thought he could evade justice but he is now paying for his crime. We welcome this sentence because it has prevented Garry from harming communities by selling drugs on the streets of Runcorn.

“I would ask anyone who has any information about who is supplying or selling drugs in their area to contact us so we can take action.”
