- McCarthy, who was believed to have links to drug supply, refused to stop for officers and dangerously weaved through traffic and pedestrians.
- The pursuit ended when he lost control of the e-scooter, travelling at over 20mph, while attempting to pass a bus.
- He pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving without insurance, driving without a licence, criminal damage, and possessing Class B drugs with intent to supply.
- McCarthy was sentenced to 75 weeks in jail and disqualified from driving for 19 months.
