Drue Tranquill Posts Two-Word Message After Agreeing to Three-Year Contract With Chiefs

Drue Tranquill is staying in Kansas City.

The 28-year-old linebacker agreed to sign a three-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs worth $19 million ($13 million guaranteed), per multiple reports.

Tranquill all but confirmed the reports Thursday night when he posted a picture of himself and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce celebrating Kansas City’s win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.

“Unfinished business,” Tranquill wrote.

Tranquill signed a one-year deal with the Chiefs last offseason after spending his first four seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers.

In 16 regular-season games with Kansas City, Tranquill started eight games at linebacker and tallied 78 tackles, 4.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. He played all four of the Chiefs’ playoff games and registered 21 tackles and one tackle for loss en route to a Super Bowl LVIII victory.

Tranquill now will join Kansas City’s fight to become the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowl titles.
