Drowning person heroically rescued after falling into River Liffey in Dublin

A drowning person was heroically rescued after they fell into the River Liffey today.

The incident happened at O'Connell Bridge in Dublin city centre.

Two people jumped into the river to rescue the person in need.

Dublin Fire Brigade then managed to rescue all three people from the River Liffey in the dangerous conditions, Dublin Live reports.

They arrived to the scene where two people heroically jumped into the dangerous river to save someone, who has since been taken to hospital.

Dublin City Council said: "Reports indicated that 2 people had entered the water to help the casualty. The casualty was removed at Butt Bridge by DFB and was transported to hospital."

The two heroes are fine and refused offers to be checked up at the hospital.

DFB spoke of the incident online: "We're currently attending a water rescue at Custom House Quay, rescue swimmers have taken a number of people to safety"

They told Dublin Live: "Fast flowing river after recent heavy rainfall meant they were at Custom House Quay before they were able to get out of the water."

The condition of the third person is currently unknown.
