Drones targeting RAF base in Cyprus intercepted as Iran conflict intensifies

  • The Ministry of Defence stated that force protection in the region is at its highest level and the base responded to defend its personnel.
  • RAF Akrotiri is the largest RAF base outside the UK, housing over 3,500 personnel and supporting UK operations in the Middle East, including shooting down Iranian drones and Operation Shader.
