Drone footage shows hundreds of Splendour revellers skanking to The Specials in unison

If any band was going to get festival-goers off their bums and dancing at Splendour is was going to be The Specials.

Playing a co-headline slot on the main stage last night (July 20) the ska heroes pulled out classic such as Do Nothing, A Message To You, Rudy, Nite Klub, Concrete Jungle, Gangsters and Too Much, Too Young - and it certainly got the crowd's feet going.

Indeed drone footage - courtesy of Dgtlconcepts - caught hundreds of people skanking to the band in unison.

It also shows the sheer scale of the event which this year welcomed up to 30,000 people into the grounds of Wollaton Park to see the likes of the Manic Street Preachers, All Saints and Rag'n'Bone Man.

Delivered by DHP Family, in association with Nottingham City Council, Splendour will be back for 2020 will plans to be announced later in the year.

George Akins, DHP Family owner, says: “It’s great to see months of hard work pay off with a day that has gone down so well with a fantastic festival crowd, with a line-up that really ticked all the boxes. We love putting on what has become the most epic summer party in the whole of the East Midlands and can’t wait to start working on next year.”
