Drone footage shows full extent of damage to Guildhall after fire ripped through it

Incredible drone footage has captured the full aftermath of the Guildhall Fire that occurred last month.

The fire resulted in the closure of some major Bristol roads on Sunday, March 15 after the roof of the historic Grade II-listed building collapsed following the fire.

At the height of the fire during there were around 50 firefighters at the scene and a nearby student accommodation block had to be evacuated.

The fire had been extinguished by late Sunday morning.

However, this new drone footage shows how the fire had already spread through much of the roof of the Grade II-listed building, exposing the burnt out remains of the main section of the building.

The drone footage, sent into Bristol Live by Matthew Wright is the first video to fully capture the damage to the building, revealing the damage to the buildings two rooves.

The footage only shows a small part of the building as a whole but represents the destruction the single fire had on the building.

At the time, police were also on scene with Avon Fire and Rescue.

The fire service still believe the cause is thought to be deliberate following an investigation by the fire dog.

Police are treating the incident as suspicious and are asking for anyone with information to call 101 quoting log 82.
